01 / FOUNDATIONS

Born in New York City, David Tagg studied at the School of Visual Arts, but his design education began much earlier. As a second-generation graphic designer, he was taught by his father in the traditions of Swiss design and minimalism—principles of clarity, restraint, and purposeful communication that continue to shape his work today.

02 / PRACTICE

His practice moves fluidly between graphic design, sculpture, furniture, photography, and printmaking, creating work that feels both contemporary and timeless. Drawing from Swiss design, mid-century modernism, and handmade craft, his work balances restraint with curiosity.

03 / INTENT

Whether designing for institutions, churches, or creating personal artwork, each project begins with the search for an honest visual language rather than a style to impose. Through analog processes, careful iteration, and thoughtful materials, his work explores memory, meaning, and the quiet tension between order and imperfection. He believes the best design serves people first, communicates with clarity, and leaves room for wonder.
