Graphic Design Revival

PROJECT DETAILS
An ongoing series that reimagines graphic design from my father's 1970s portfolio through a contemporary lens and biblical narrative
Graphic Design Revival is an ongoing personal series dedicated to revisiting and reimagining pieces from my father's graphic design portfolio of the 1970s. Rather than treating the work as historical artifacts, each project becomes a conversation across generations—studying the original concepts, typography, composition, and production limitations before interpreting them through contemporary tools and sensibilities. Each piece is then reimagined within a biblical context, using familiar visual language as a means of communicating the gospel and demonstrating how timeless design principles can continue to serve timeless truth. The series is both an act of preservation and exploration, honoring the craftsmanship of the originals while discovering new ways they can speak today. Each installment documents the transformation from archival piece to modern reinterpretation, revealing the design decisions, iterations, and theological concepts that shape the final work. The process serves as an ongoing study in timeless design, illustrating that strong ideas can transcend changing trends, technologies, and production methods. More than a collection of redesigns, the series reflects on design as a shared language—one capable of bridging generations, inviting conversation, and pointing beyond itself to the hope of the gospel.
